Where Eagles Soar

Nice nice nice nice. I like the timpani part, as usual, haha.

Anyway, I went back for TWE's so-called "practice" today. It was sec-one-day again. Everyone was slacking as usual, without regard for the sec ones.

I think the percussion sec ones are being neglected. So I brought the two girls who couldn't read notes to the white board and taught them abit of theory. Note-reading, understanding keys and such.

And I saw Shaun from trombone "conduct" combined sects for brass and perc. Damn funny la, most of the time Meroy was the one conducting. Actually don't see the point of perc joining in the combined sects, because we don't need to re-tune, we don't need to hold chords and all that. We just get everyone stading at their instruments, and go. It was practically a waste of time.

Why must the brasses come back to the band room for sects?

Besides that, I think Maha Bodhi made a very good choice in picking Where Eagles Soar. Crowd-wowwer. Haha TWE should do the same and pick something like, To The Summit. hahaha.

Ah, nothing more to post. Goodnight.

Ok, due to SOMEONE's incessant ranting about how I was mentioned in HER blog, albeit through a different IDENTITY, I am here today to write about the one and only CHOPSTICK.

Hmmm. Ok. That's a funny nickname. I don't see the resemblance to the person in particular, but oh wells, it's HER nickname.

hahaha.

ok.

CHOPSTICK was, is and will be, one of my good friend(whom I met during SFW 04)'s younger sis. She came to Temasek Secondary for God-knows-what reason, and joined band for apparently the same reason, though her brother may have had a hand(or two) in it. Literally.

Naturally, she was given the percussionist's role in the band, due to her braces and her link to her percussionist brother as well. She did well in band, albeit with too many a tantrum, and is now in the current sec 2 batch of TWEmasekians.

Ok. This is getting too formal.

FAY. Big eyes that spot everything, including grammer mistakes. Good hands. Spastic. Loves strawberries. Tall, compared to me. Cubic curve of Emotions. Fluctuating moods......

hmmm what else?

Nothing.

ok. done. FAY! This good enough for you?

This is some SERIOUSLY LAME Maths shit.

I got this from my brother's class forum. There's more, but these are the funniest.

-----
Theorem. A cat has nine tails.
Proof. No cat has eight tails. Since one cat has one more tail than no cat, it must have nine tails.

Math problems? Call 1-800-[(10x)(13i)2]-[sin(xy)/2.362x].

A group of mathematicians and a group of engineers are traveling together by train to attend a conference on mathematical methods in engineering. Each engineer has a ticket whereas only one of the mathematicians has one.

Of course, the engineers laugh at the unworldly mathematicians and look forward to the moment the conductor shows up. Suddenly one of the mathematicians shouts: "Conductor coming!" All the mathematicians disappear into one washroom.

The conductor checks the ticket of each engineer and then knocks at the washroom door: "Your ticket, please." The mathematicians stick the one ticket they have under the door, the conductor checks it and leaves. A few minutes later, when it is safe, the mathematicians come out of the washroom. The engineers are impressed.

When the conference has come to an end, the engineers decide that they are at least as smart as the mathematicians and also buy just one ticket for the whole group. This time the mathematicians have no ticket at all... Again one of the mathematicians shouts: "Conductor coming!". All the engineers rush off to one washroom. One of the mathematicians goes to that washroom, knocks at the door, and says: "Your ticket, please..."

A mathematician, a physicist, and an engineer are asked to test the following hypothesis: All odd numbers greater than one are prime.

The mathematician: "Three is a prime, five is a prime, seven is a prime, but nine is not a prime. Therefore, the hypothesis is false."

The physicist: "Three is a prime, five is a prime, seven is a prime, nine is not a prime, eleven is a prime, and thirteen is a prime. Hence, five out of six experiments support the hypothesis. It must be true."

The engineer: "Three is a prime, five's a prime, seven's a prime, nine's a prime..."

And now for the STUPIDEST Maths Joke of the Year:

There were three medieval kingdoms on the shores of a lake. There was an island in the middle of the lake, over which the kingdoms had been fighting for years. Finally, the three kings decided that they would send their knights out to do battle, and the winner would take the island.

The night before the battle, the knights and their squires pitched camp and readied themselves for the fight. The first kingdom had 12 knights, and each knight had five squires, all of whom were busily polishing armor, brushing horses, and cooking food. The second kingdom had twenty knights, and each knight had 10 squires. Everyone at that camp was also busy preparing for battle. At the camp of the third kingdom, there was only one knight, with his squire. This squire took a large pot and hung it from a looped rope in a tall tree. He busied himself preparing the meal, while the knight polished his own armor.

When the hour of the battle came, the three kingdoms sent their squires out to fight (this was too trivial a matter for the knights to join in).

The battle raged, and when the dust had cleared, the only person left was the lone squire from the third kingdom, having defeated the squires from the other two kingdoms, thus proving that the squire of the high pot and noose is equal to the sum of the squires of the other two sides.

Hahaha... Damn lame shit man.....

East Coast Park is NOT park. It's more a beach with bits of grass. But it doesn't mean we didn't have fun there.

Hengky, Marl, Val and Me were to meet at 12 30 latest at Marine Cove Mac's. Chuan couldn't come because he had some OG outing at East Coast Park. But I'm guessing that was the reason Val wanted to deviate from our usual library outing, and come here instead. Eh Val?

So I decided to wait for Hengky and Val at the Bus stop at the HDB there. So I took a 31 and waited there.

8. EIGHT DARNED 31s passed before the both of them arrived on the 9th. By that time it was 1.12pm ok. 40 minutes late. And I haven't even eaten breakfast. So I hurried them on to Mac's so we could gorge ourselves on Mcspicys and whatever else Mac had to offer to a starving potato.

Anyway. While we were walking towards the underpass that would get us over, or rather, under to east coast park, Val recieved an SMS from Marl asking if 31 went to ECP. That made it quite clear that she hadn't left the house.

Why must everyone always be late? We should re-label ourselves as the latecomers or something, and start a band. Then our concerts would always start 2 hours after the scheduled time, and we would appear to have just woken up or something.

But I digress.

Well, we finally made it to the Land Of The Yellow M, and within 2 minutes I was stuffing my face. Finally Marl came, earlier than we thought. Turns out her dad fetched her to Marine Cove.

Chuan Li came after a while, but he had to go after a while to rejoin his OG.

Hengky was rushing us to finish our food because he wanted to go to the first Breakwater to meet his friends. So we walked and walked while trying to find them, in the end their "First Breakwater" was breakwater number 4. So we walked back to the rocks and finally saw them.

Yeening, Li Shean(is this how you spell it?), and Xuefang, were there slacking away with the wind and sand blowing in their faces. And Val had saved a Mac cup and went off to build Sandcastles with Marl.

For those who do not know who me and my friends are, we are all going to be aged 17 this year.

Finally the sandcastle was done and they wrote 4R on it and all. Then after that we left it there and walked on. Imagine our surprise(and Val's joy) when we saw Chuan Li's OG playing frisbee in the Park.

We walked past them, but didn't get a chance to talk to Chuan at all. So we went off to Marine Bowl. BUT! there were no lanes available... So in the end we all went home.

Haha but it was great seeing them again.
