Hello everyone.

It's been a weird week, both filled with activities and yet boring. Fun yet unexciting. Happy yet sad.

Had my Violin Exam on Tuesday. Examiner was quite nice and I think he dragged out his sentences so that we Singaporeans who took the exams could understand his Queen's English accent. Then after that I put my violin at home and went to visit TWE.

They sound quite nice already, with a definitely new style from the way Mr Glosz handled it. It's The Zat Style. Not bad song, not bad texture.

If all goes smoothly and the judges don't give a damn about the length and grade of the piece, I think they'll make it to top three.

Anyway, after that I went home and slacked. As usual.

Wednesday was the most boring day ever. After work I went home and slept, which I hardly ever do in the afternoons. Then I woke up and slacked the whole night again.

Today(Thursday) was considerably better. The classes I took for relief were surprisingly calm and quieter. Must have been the rain. After work, I rushed home in the rain and took my violin and went for my lesson.

Lesson was interesting. My teacher told me some surprising (and not unpleasant) stuff. And I got loads to practice again. Well, after the lesson I bought bubble tea and went walking around parkway.

As I was coming out from Sembawang, suddenly this girl in green bypassed my sight and went down the escalator with another woman. I turned, and saw Jesalyn, in her TJC uniform. It looks good on her, not like the un-matching way it does on some other people in the school. Even she herself knows it, and once kept talking about uniform matching throughout an entire train ride. haha.

But enough about the uniform. As I said, I saw her and her mum on the escalator and I called out. She turned and waved. Seemed to be in a hurry, too.

Ah well, I just turned and walked along. Soon I made my way back home and at the bus stop along Katong Road, I met Fay, who was with.... some guy, I dunno who.

Luckily I asked what bus they were taking first, or I would have hopped on the 12 which they took, as well. Cannot be lamp-post ma, modern society etiquette of not playing gooseberry. So I simply said, "oh I'm taking 10". haha.

In the end I waited quite long for bus 10 and reached home around 5.30pm. Slacked until now.

Boring life, isn't it. Yet it is filled with so many activities and things to be happy about. But in the end it is still effectively much more boring than being in school.

This is why I hate holidays which provide nothing to do.

Hello everybody.
It's been quite a while since my last post. 12 days, to be exact.

Anyway, it's the holidays for poly students and instead of slacking like some people, I'm spending my time wisely - no wait, maybe not wisely, but still time consuming anyway - back in Greenview Sec.

For those who are still clueless as to what in the world enticed me to visit that isolated area of loyang for 6 hours or more every weekday, I'm doing relief teaching. It's my second season.

And this time, I'm really getting sian-ed out, because I have been allotted random timetables, instead of having a fixed timetable like last year. Because of this, I have to wake up at 6am everyday without knowing for sure if I'd be working that day. Only at 7am will I know. Then it's a rush to the school and then the work starts, which basically consists of entering a class and keeping order in it. Most of the time it doesn't work out, though, especially in the naughtier classes.

But anyhow, I still like it. Keeps me busy during holidays.

I don't know if I've mentioned this to anyone before, but I really hate holidays with nothing to do. Since I was in sec 2 I've always wanted to be out doing something everyday, not sitting at home with nothing to do.

So for the past week, I've been screaming and shouting at classes to "keep quiet" and "sit down" and "get back into the classroom" and all the other assorted things teachers say to keep order.

Apart from that, life still goes on as per normal. Trainings on Mondays and Fridays. Violin lessons on Thursdays. Chamberesque on some weekends. Visiting TWE on some Tuesdays.

Oh, and Jesalyn is putting on braces! Although I don't really think she'd need it, of course it is better for her. The poor girl is now suffering in pain from the extractions, which she'll have to go through a second round of this week. Her braces term is one and a half years, which is quite short. I still have about a year or two more, and I've already had one year.

But enough about that.

Violin exam on Tuesday in the morning, so obviously I'm not reporting to work on Tuesday.

Training tomorrow. Monday.

Alright photos from the Perth trip!

My sis and me in her hostel room.

And this is the University of Western Australia's Clock Tower. The building is some performance theater.

Guess what building this is... And the answer is...HAHA Val, Talz, fancy coming here to study next time?

Some wedding couple taking wedding photos. Told you people get married there.

Now this is something I haven't seen for some time. Talk about advertisement graffitti.

And at the top of the column....

Okay that's about enough for now, maybe I'll put up more pics next time. I'm a very lazy picture-posting person.

Goodnight everyone.

So. Let's get done with the Perth Story first yeah?

Thursday
I went to Subiaco again alone because my sis had classes again. Of course she has classes, Uni isn't a paid holiday. So I walked around the place myself. The nice market was closed. Darn. So I walked along the shophouses and bought some souveniers and then went back.

Slacked in my sis's room for awhile and then she came back and brought me to this Italian place called Tiamo for dinner. The name means "I love you" in Italian according to Val, but please, my sis and I are not incestuous. Sibling Love.

But anyway, the food at that place was seriously damn good.

After that, we went back and played abit of soccer behind the hostel's tennis court. hahaha. Then we headed back and I was quite tired so I slept.

Friday
Went back to subiaco again so that I could go to that market. It's a really nice market but it only opens on Fridays and weekends. Bought stuff that I wanted to get and could only find there, and then went back and watched movies on my sis's laptop.

Dinner was at this chinese food place in Northbridge, which is opposite the city relative to the bus station. The chinese food there was damn nice, but the vegetables served was mainly stalks and stalks. I don't like stalks!

Yeah, and on the way back we met two of my sis's Hostel friends on the bus, going back from the city too. We chatted on the bus and after we were back at the hostel we decided to play table tennis.

We played from 9pm to 12 midnight. Crazy right. But damn fun. And I'm getting better at it. hahahah. After that was totally tired so we went to sleep.

Saturday
This was one of the most fun days in Perth. We took a bus to Fremantle and walked through this grassfield to the harbour. Then we went to eat fish and chips! haha at this damn cool place called Cicerello's. Best Fish and Chips man. And we saw this damn funny sign all around the place, will post it up soon.

After that we walked to Baskin and Robbins to have ice cream! hahaha Also the best Ice Cream I've ever tasted. Never had anything like it before. My sis and I had a pleasant surprise there too. We met an old colleague of my dad's, who was also there on a vacation. Chatted for a long while and then we left to go back to Crawley, which is where the Hostel is.

When we went back, we immediately went to play table tennis again. HAHAHA. I really like the sport now.

Then I spent the night writing goodbye notes to my sis's friends who made it so hospitable in the hostel. And I sneaked out at around 1am plus to stick them on their doors. hahaha.

Sunday
THE DAY finally arrived! Went to the City with my sis and walked about for some ridiculous reason, until we finally arrived at this Jap food place. The food there, as always in the places my sis brought me to eat, was really good. Better than the Jap fare here in Singapore, though more expensive. The serving is super large as well, to cater to the huge angmoh stomachs I suppose.

After the meal, we went to the Hotel Grand Chancellor to wait for my shuttle, which then took me to the airport.

Check-in and all was fine, walked about quite a bit before boarding too. And flight was quite alright too.

My parents came to fetch me, and slept on a bed for the first time in 8 days! hahahaha.

Monday
Woke up at 10 and moochled and foochled around the house until 12pm and I went out to buy food for my dad and me. After lunch I went out to TM and waited for Val to turn up. While walking I was thinking of stuff and as I took the escalator up to the top floor I was thinking of Jes.

Then I reached the top floor and surprise, Jes was there, with Jacqueline and another guy. Said hello and chatted a bit. Then they left and I was left alone again to walk and wait for the late person.

Met up with Val about a few minutes later and we went to Starbucks and chatted till 4plus and that girl somehow wanted to go Yamaha. Given that we met on the top floor, she should have went before we went down to Starbucks.

Anyway, after that I went home and changed for training. Reached Kembangan CC and say Jes's training bag and Gi there but somehow she and her handbag wasn't there. hahaha, later found out she walked all the way around and around to find a single rubber band to tie her hair with. Haha.

Training was quite alright, with a few glitches as usual. Mel was sick today. Silly girl went to take drowsy medicine without reading the label and then she went to canoe. In the end she said her senior had to rescue her. I think I know which senior it is..... hahahahah.

Anyway, during the ride back home after training, Jes told me about her CG and OG, and how she thought that it wasn't worth it hanging out with her CG cos they didn't give back as much or put in as much effort to bond, and thus she much rather be with her OG when outings with both groups clashed.

Somehow, I found it damn ironic that she could tell me that.

But no matter. The ride back was still nice.

Rushed back because my mum had to wash the white stuff I wore to training, and now I'm typing this. What else can I put in this super long post?

Oh yes, photos will be up soon. As soon as I load and arrange them.

Goodnight people.

Wednesday, March 07, 2007

Hello everyone once again.

It's Wednesday. And the weather's still 42 degrees. Or hotter. There ain't enough clouds to fill a teaspoon up there.

Anyway. On to the happenings.

Sunday
Sis brought me to Subiaco today. It has this place like a huge walkthrough market with all sorts of items there. Bought some weird laughable stuff there and then we went back for lunch.

After that, we headed back to the room and I slept the afternoon away. Had a mild headache too.

Then at night I slept as well. Obviously.

Monday
Sis had a lecture so I walked around the UWA campus taking photos, but I had to stop after awhile because people were looking and I felt a bit awkward. So I went to wait for my sis outside her LT.

My sis brought me to Broadway for lunch. Had Chicken rice, and it still can't beat the Singaporean version behind my house, for all it's authenticity. Sis had Hainanese Noodles, which she claims is the best she's tasted around.

By the way, Broadway here refers to this small shopping complex called Broadway. It's not the famous theather in London. Just if anyone is confused.

Anyway after that we went back and sis had classes the whole afternoon so I stayed in her room and watched movies on her laptop. And at night after dinner we went up to my sis's friend's room and played blackjack, betting with rubber bands and sweets, then we headed back and went to sleep.

Tuesday
Today I followed my sis to her two lectures and into her chem lab. Serious difference in comparison with TMS science labs man. There were about 6 taps supplying different things at each workstation. I took a few photos and there's a photo with me in my sis's labcoat too.

After that we both went to Perth City and walked around and around. There's this place called London Court, which looked extremely like Diagon Alley in the Harry Potter films. I think they might have filmed the movies at the original London Court in London(duh).

We went back around 3pm because the weather was seriously too hot to walk around anymore. Spent the rest of the day sleeping and whatnots. Slacker holiday.

Wednesday
Today. Sis had 6 hours of Chem Lab. SIX, mind. How many of you A and O level people complain of "two hour SPA leh, no joke" or "this SPA not relax one sia"? SIX HOURS man, UNI level some more.

So, because she was busy, I went to Perth City myself and walked around. Tried to find the bubble tea shop but couldn't. So around 1.30pm I went back, and stayed in my sis's room the whole afternoon watching TROY. Then my sis came back and we went down to dinner.

After dinner we wanted to go to the Uni's Recreational centre to play basketball, but all the courts were occupied so bo pian, we came back. And now I'm typing this.

So that's a rough brief of what happened so far. Details can only be passed on a verbal basis. hahah. It's a nice vacation, though it would be better if I came in autumn or spring. Even winter doesn't seem so bad.

FORTY-TWO DEGREES leh.
Twenty-one times Two.

I miss Singapore. Already. Come Saturday my sis's taking me to fremantle and on Sunday it's time to head back to Singapore. I'll reach Singapore just as the March hols begin. Good planning eh?

See Ya all.

Saturday, March 03, 2007

Greetings all from Perth! hahaha. Blogging from my sis's laptop, which I'm not quite used to. But still serves alright for typing.

Anyway, on to the events so far.

This morning dad fetched my mum, my bro and obviously me to the airport. Then he went to school for his school's beach cleanup thingy. Then after that Mel arrived. Mel, the one who said she had training and so couldn't come. Supposedly.

Anyway. Val appeared later, when the four of us were eating BK and talking crap. So we became five. Obviously. Please go improve your math if you don't believe me. hahahaha

So. Plane flight was alright, with turbulences almost all the way for the first half-hour of the flight. Minor ones. No coffee spilt, no apples flying, nothing. And the two women on either side of me simply slept the whole journey. What a waste of Krisworld Entertainment System installation.

After the plane touched down, the customs and immigrations stuff all in all took about another hour. Yes, that long. Then after that I had a bit of trouble locating the right shuttle to take. Firstly, the shuttle wasn't there. Secondly, the only thing that gave a feeble hint of the shuttle service's existence was a signboard that looked more like an advertisement than a shuttle station. But it was there that te shuttle parked in the end.

Took the shuttle to Hotel Grand Chancellor where I met my sis, who bought bubble tea for me. BUBBLE TEA. IN PERTH. I never knew they had bubble tea in Westernised countries. haha.

So after we got back to my sis's hostel, she brought me to dinner at their canteen and after that we took a long stroll through her Uni, The University of Western Australia. The place is really really really nice. It looks like the kind of place where Val or Tallie would like to get married at. Yea you two, it's that nice.

So anyway, I was telling my sis I might consider studying there next time. Study what? Of course is Architecture lor. hahaha. Unless I take up the FM course in Reading, which is really hard to get into. haha

Anyway, now I'm back at the hostel typing.

How goes life back in Singapore!
